Big old guy here loving my 2020 Ford Transit except for one tiny detail, the gear shifter's positioning. Is there any way I can modify this to give me more leg room? My knee hits the mount and Im not happy at all, I also cant be used to this since Im kinda old and I need comfort in my driving. Please share any tips, advices and VIN or part numbers so I can check online.

I'm curious about this, I'm a tall guy myself, and would love to have more leg room

I can understand that struggle. I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm not sure there is a permanent solution for this and it's really hard to relocate the gear shifter because it's well integrated to the steering and dashboard. It's also gonna probably affect your safety. You tried pushing the driver's seat all the way back?

I totally get you, man, that shifter placement can be a real hassle. Some people switch to the '21+ right-side shifter for extra legroom, but it's not exactly a plug-and-play setup. You might need to do some custom work. It could be a good idea to ask your local shop if they've handled that before. Either way, you're definitely not the only one dealing with this

I KNOW. The shifter is kinda in the way, isn't it? I heard other friends of mine talking about how they swapped to a column shifter setup from later models. But it takes custom work and wiring changes AND the budget.
