Do you have any suggestions on protection for the 2024 Ford E-Transit? I tried Fluid Film last year and am pissed because now I need to redo my wheels. Why didn't the E-Transit come with wheel liners anyway! This is so frustrating.

Question: does Woolwax work or should I go with Cosmoline? Which is better?

Had the same debate when I helped my cousin rust proof his truck. We learned that Cosmoline is the heavy duty option. It's petroleum based and sticks like glue, great for long term protection but a pain to remove. Woolwax on the other hand is lanolin based. Easier to apply and doesn't have that strong smell. Up to your preference now.

That's a bummer about the Fluid Film messing with your wheels! Down here in Chicago a lot of folks find Woolwax to be a decent option for rust protection without being as thick and hard to remove as Cosmoline. Plus, some of the petroleum-based stuff doesn't have that strong chemical smell. Did you notice the Fluid Film attracting a lot of road grime and dirt?

I'm about to get Fluid Film and thought I check it here first! thanks for the heads up and the suggestions. question though, can I apply it myself or do I need to take it somewhere and they can apply it instead?

Thanks all for these responses. I know it's been a little late for me to get back to you, but all has been well-noted and appreciated.

Ain't sure if your question was directed at me but I can tell you that you can apply it yourself with their aerosol cans or a spray gun kit. Just be warned, based on my own recent mess, it can attract a ton of road grime.
