Back up camera relay guide

I have my backup camera wired to turn on only when i'm in reverse, but i want to be able to switch it on while driving to check the cargo area. To avoid turning on the backup lights, i'm using a relay to switch power sources safely. The tricky part is running a wire from a dash switch to the rear without tearing apart my van. I'm thinking of using the unused rear cargo light wires near the fuse box, but those wires are hard to access. Does anyone know an easier way to get to that wiring or if the fuse box can be flipped for better access?

If you can get to the wiring under the kick panel, you might be able to run a lead along with the factory harness without actually taking up half the interior apart. You could try an add-a-circuit at the fuse box to save you a lot of hassle.

That makes sense, keeping it along the factory harness would definitely be cleaner. When you say add-a-circuit at the fuse box, do you mean tapping into an existing reverse-light circuit , or is it better to dedicate a new fused line entirely for the camera?
