I've been using my credit card for years whenever I need to pay stuff for my 2023 Ford Transit. All of a sudden, they're asking me for a 3% added costs when I used my card to repair my windshield last Tuesday. Since when did they do this? I thought the prices are inclusive of charges already?

I think that's been the case for quite a while now. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about it since credit card is still the most convenient payment option.

you're right, I would be surprised too if I were you. could it be a new policy at this specific repair shop?

Lately, many dealers have quietly begun adding a 3% fee for card payments to help cover processing costs. It's no longer included in the service price, which is frustrating, but it's become quite common. It's definitely worth asking if they'll drop that fee for debit payments or if you can use FordPass points.

I think it's been a long time since this started happening. Now the prices are really inclusive of the charges. Try checking other dealers if it's the same scenario. I'm pretty sure it is.
