my transit van is the non trail model so I was wondering if I can install trail fenders or it's a different panel style which won't fit?

honestly, don't expect a plug and play fix here really, coz trail fenders on a non trail transit won't match up without custom modifications. The panel design is different, so unless you're ready to do some serious tweaking, it's probably best to stick with what fits OEM.

You can likely install trail fenders on your non-trail Transit van, but it really comes down to whether the body panels match up between the models. The fender mounts and body lines could have slight differences, so it's smart to compare them beforehand or ask a Ford parts dealer about compatibility. Have you checked the part numbers for both models?

You got the general consensus here.. there's no direct bolt-on solution because of the different front and rear panel designs.
If you really want to install trail fenders, I think your best bet is to find aftermarket fender flare kits!

They can fit, but most likely you may need to trim or tweak a few things to get them lined up right. It's not a straight swap. But if you trust yourself capable to do it then go for it. Saves you a couple extra bucks than bringing it somewhere.

Okay, that's a good idea, sounds like we can make it happen if we cut some corners. It will surely be easier on the wallet if you know how to do stuff yourself. Good luck!
